2015: a brief review.

For me personally, 2015 has been an incredible year. I have achieved milestones, celebrated many family occasions, and managed to fit in some travel. I rediscovered and renewed my interests in the blogosphere and have rejuvenated this blog. I completed a masters, and I finally began to learn Spanish. By far the most exciting accomplishment this year is having started planning a trip I have always felt I needed to take. And I’m blessed to be taking that trip with a special person.

For others, this year has been extremely traumatic. Our thoughts have been variously with Parisians, Syrians, Iraqis, Nigerians, and Lebanese, as a result of jihadist terrorism. People in America have also suffered at the hands of the brutal police force who have sometimes been treated with unjust impunity. The current situation in the North of England where many, many people have lost their livelihoods due to flooding is also worthy of a mention. We can only hope that 2016 brings less violence, less hatred, and more harmony and humanism. We can only hope.

I hope that next year will bring more joy than is imaginable and that the ups dominate the downs. In regards to Global Individuals, I intend to grow into a regular forum for conversation as well as for travel tips. 2016 will be a monumental year and I am truly looking forward to it. I hope the transition to travel blog will be very rewarding .
